“Tagged”

I have been tagged by 3 people: Aunt Deb, Sarah, and Jenn. This means I am to list random facts about myself. I think I will just stick with 7 facts since 21 would be impossible.

1. I absolutely love being a mommy.

2. I love my job as a music teacher. I especially love teaching band.

3. I married the last person I dated.

4. I hate the dark; big crowds; and chickens. (When I was quite young a rooster
pecked me on the leg and made me bleed. I have harbored hatred in my heart
ever since.)

5. I don’t like baby sleepers that snap. Sleepers with zippers are much simpler.

6. I have spent almost 1/3 of my life at GBS.

7. I lost my pacifier in Haiti at a very young age (6 months) while accompanying
my parents on a missionary adventure.

Hi everyone, my mommy has been so busy recently that I thought I would just help her out by blogging for her. Yes, it is way passed my bedtime, but a post must go out.
I am doing very well. In the past couple of weeks I have discovered that I love to talk and squeal. I even talk on the phone sometimes; mommy has to help me with that though. I can roll from my tummy to my back very easily. I’m very proud of that. Mommy has me on quite a schedule, that makes my life go smoother, I think it probably helps her out too. While mommy is teaching I hang out with daddy or aunt Sonja or take a nap. I have a good life. I have gone to band a couple of times with mommy, I really love that.
In the last two weeks I have had so many visitors. Aunt Donna came to see me, she is so cool. I wish she would come more often, and next time bring uncle Wesley. Nanna came and spent the weekend. She couldn’t believe how much I’d grown. Got to see Papaw and Grandma. I also got to spend the afternoon with uncle David, aunt Jenny, aunt Diana, and grandmommy.
I love my family! Now Pops, when are you going to come see me, you know I can’t drive yet. Sure would like to see MeeMee and everyone at her house again too. Still waiting to meet all the family in N.C, and MI, maybe one of these days.
Last weekend was the school picnic. I got to pitch for the softball game. I had a great day, but was shortchanged on my nap time and that affected my attitude. Hey, a man has got to have his sleep.

I probably am forgetting something important, it is just so hard to remember everything when mommy waits so long to blog. I know she has been “tagged” by 3 different people but she will have to take care of that herself, I can’t do everything. By the way, I was just kidding about being the softball pitcher, I’m still to little to do that. Hey do you like my shirt?

The Talking Bean

This is especially for Nanna and Pops since you haven't seen your favorite grandson for a while. Everyone else, feel free to enjoy this also.

For some reason I can only record for 10 seconds.

Our week in review.

Sad tidings: Mr. H. Balloon, a trusted member of the Andy Parriman family, settled to the floor for the final time on Thursday. (Yes, his first name was Helium, but he preferred going by “H” you probably would too.)
H joined our family the day after Bean was born, a gift given by Nanna. This gassy friend floated stoically above the mantel watching over our family and proudly proclaiming his message “It’s a Boy” to all who would happen by. During the past couple of weeks I have noticed signs of age creeping in. He started to look somewhat anorexic and soon was only a shell of the man he once was. He also started to very slowly drift downward, wanting to be near us I suppose. The poor guy never did say much, but was always right there. He lived a long and happy life of 14 weeks. I’m pretty sure he outlived all of his family and friends. I trust he will rest peacefully and comfortably in his new home, Bean’s baby book. He certainly will not be forgotten.

Yes, I know I must sound deranged, but if you had a helium balloon last longer than 3 months than you could blog about it too. Plus by telling you this story I could use the words “gassy” “floated” and “stoic” all in the same sentence. That is certainly notable.

So, Bean and I have successfully finished our first week with me teaching. He did great! He decided Tuesday night to start sleeping through the night. That was a nice blessing, now I just have to remember how to sleep all night.
The classes I am teaching are smaller, but that is ok, easier for classroom control. Beginning Band is really going to be interesting, it always is, but this year the flute is the instrument of choice. Last year there wasn’t one, this year 5 or 6 of my 13 beginners are desiring and determined to learn this fine instrument. I guess we will just be a flute band. Also these beginners have somehow gotten the idea that I (the school) will provide them with the instrument they want to learn. Maybe I will become a magician and start pulling instruments from my hat. Probably it would be easier for them to just go rent/buy from a reputable music store. (Wal-mart and Sams do not fall into this category)
Andy has just finished another online class; he has 2 weeks off and then will start two classes.
Have a wonderful week. I promise to post more pictures of dear little Bean soon.

Ramblings

Today, August 31, my little boy was three months old. Where has the time gone?
Some of his blog-worthy accomplishments this far are:
-Smiles that melt Mommy’s heart
-Diapers that make Daddy gag
-Very observant to his surroundings
-Occasional “conversations” with his parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles, and toys
-Enjoys playing with fingers and toes
-Rolled over several times today
*This happened during a fit of rage after being left in his pack-n-play longer than he thought was necessary, so will see if he can continue this behavior under normal circumstances. (No, I am not one of those mothers that rush to their child the instant they began to cry, especially when the cries have rage-like qualities)

Well, school is here again. Bean has his own little nursery in my office. Pack-n-play, swing, bouncy seat, and lots of people to see. I did take him to the store to buy school supplies. Diapers & wipes... Not really the traditional supplies needed, but pretty necessary.

“So, is he a GOOD baby?” This question has been asked me by several people in the past 3 months. People with a look in their eye that says, “Come on you can tell me the truth” This makes me wonder, is there such a thing as a BAD baby. And if you did have a BAD baby would you really tell someone that? How would you know if your child fit into the “bad baby” category? And for that matter what is a GOOD baby? These are the questions that keep me awake at night. (No I am not serious)

This Little Piggy Went to Market.....

This week Bean has discovered his toes. He has also discovered that they are cool things to put in his mouth.
My growing boy is now 12 weeks. Weighs 11pounds 1.5 ounces and is 23 ½ inches long. He has received his first series of shots and probably did better with that than I did.
